Local Newswire How To Dress Well covers Minneapolis-based Elite Gymanstics

Consider it a good sign of progress for Elite Gymnastics that they’ve already managed to put together a tribute album of sorts just as their career is starting to take off. Between the online release of Ruin 1 & 2 and garnering enough Internet buzz and critical acclaim to get signed to Acéphale, it’s been a pretty busy summer for the Minneapolis-based electronic duo. Not only is Acéphale re-releasing Ruins 1 & 2 in a physical format this week,  plans were also announced to release Ruins 3 for free online later this November, an album that will feature cover versions and reinterpretations of songs from the first two collections from the likes of Unicorn Kid, CFCF, and Physical Therapy.

To build some excitement over the project, lo-fi R&B superpower How To Dress Well has unveiled its take on Elite Gymnastics’ “Here, In Heaven,” which is transformed from a sputtering, high-energy dance track into something solemn and devastatingly mournful. Plus, if you tune your ears well enough, we think there’s a bit of Alicia Keys' “No One” snuck in there.

Take a listen to both How To Dress Well and Elite Gymnastics’ versions of the song over at Stereogum.
