Jeremy Messersmith, Adam Levy to open for Obama on Saturday

This weekend, President Obama is swinging through town to support DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton. The rally at the U of M’s Northrop Mall Field House starts at 1 p.m. and trust us, you’re going to want to get there early for the openers. Adam Levy (of The Honeydogs and Bunny Clogs) and Jeremy Messersmith will warm up the crowd. Upon hearing the news, the latter updated his Facebook status: “Jeremy Messersmith is opening for the president on Saturday. Resisting urge to use caps lock. Caps lock is for internet emergencies only. Stop looking at the caps lock!” He also tweeted that he’ll “stick to upbeat, happy sounding tunes and maybe a few covers that everyone knows.” In contrast, Levy has remained mum on the news, not updating his Twitter account since yesterday when he opined that mayonnaise and cheese don’t belong together. Maybe he’s still in shock.
