Jesse Ventura will play governor in The Drunk

Because Jesse Ventura hasn’t done enough zany shit in his career, he’ll soon add the role governor of Indiana in a new movie called The Drunk to the list. Ventura has a history of playing governors, or at least he tried it one time, beginning in 1999 when the citizens of our great state elected him to our highest executive office. He’ll now join Tom Sizemore in a scripted version of this experience.

This, of course, isn’t Ventura’s first acting go-round. He played the burly Blain Cooper in 1987’s Predator, which, in a weird confluence of muscle and future executive power, starred fellow meat-thing/ex-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ventura’s role in that film also mirrored his real-life experience, as he played a gruff, militaristic soldier on the hunt for predators. No word on whether or not Ventura’s secretive, real career as a Navy Seal ever led him to hunt a group of aliens that had inserted themselves in Central America.

The Drunk is currently filming in Indiana, with hopes of a “2012 election season” release.
