Listen to Andrew Broder’s new solo album, I Must Fix All The Problems

Over the past few years, local indie-rock/electronica project Fog has grown from Andrew Broder’s solo project to a full-fledged trio with the 2007 album Ditherer. But Broder’s still found time to work on his own stuff by himself, including a new solo album called I Must Fix All The Problems, which he’s releasing online for free via a download link at YouSendIt.com.

Highly reminiscent of Brian Eno and Robert Fripp’s mid-1970s ambient collaborations No Pussyfooting and Evening Star, I Must Fix consists of two rumbling, 15-minute instrumentals Broder describes as “pieces for improvised guitar, turntables and 4-track. … This record is the first in what I hope will be an ongoing series of self-released solo material and reflects the sound I have been developing in the last year or so. Something that strives for beauty and terror.”

Broder and Fog drummer Tim Glenn’s side project HeatdeatH has also just released its third album, Un, on Belgian label Conspiracy Records; audio samples can be heard here.
