Lollapalooza tickets on sale now
Kick-ass summer road trip alert: Three-day passes for Chicago's Lollapalooza festival (Aug. 7 through 9) are now on sale with no official lineup announced thus far. So those who have faith in Perry Farrell and Austin-based C3 Presents—or really like alleged participants Tool, The Killers, Kings Of Leon, Jane's Addiction, Beastie Boys, and Depeche Mode—can shell out for the early bird deal, $175, at Lollapalooza's website. Everyone else will have to wait until April 21 to officially hear about the other 130 bands slated to perform.
But let the numbers games begin. The blog Faronheit claims it received a list of this year’s lineup from a C3 insider, who says the list is 90 percent accurate. It includes the previously rumored Andrew Bird and Neko Case, along with Animal Collective, Ben Folds, Fleet Foxes, TV On The Radio, and even Tenacious D; if it turns out to be true, it's a mighty impressive lineup of bands to hear in the background and passively ignore for three days.
