Lucinda Williams getting married at First Avenue

Lucinda Williams titled one of her bleakest songs about heartbreak "Minneapolis," but she'll soon have excellent reason to rewrite those lyrics: She's getting married on stage at First Avenue.
The Star Tribune reports that the alt-country singer will wed fiancé Tom Overby, a former Best Buy executive from Minneapolis, before the encore at her Sept. 18 show at the legendary local nightclub. Overby is also Williams' manager and co-produced her latest album, Little Honey. The two live in Los Angeles, but visit Minneapolis often; Overby still has family in town.
"I just found out today," First Avenue booker Nate Kranz told The A.V. Club over the phone Tuesday afternoon. "I didn't know at first if it was going to be a public thing or a private thing. I just got an email that said 'Hey, Lucinda wants to get married there.' Tom's from here, and they love First Avenue."
