Non-profit organization Vega Productions, 89.3 The Current, and McNally Smith College Of Music have teamed up to release a Fab Four tribute compilation, the proceeds of which will benefit music and art education in Minnesota schools. The Minnesota Beatle Project Volume 1 features covers by local musicians and artwork by local students, and is capped by a performance from Anthony Middle School Concert Band, a recent recipient of an instrument donation from Vega. And what better night to release the album than Dec. 8 at Curtiss A's 30th annual John Lennon tribute at First Avenue? Some artists from the comp will perform at the show, and while no one's been confirmed, we're keeping our fingers crossed for the middle school band. (Who wouldn't want to see 80 kids take over the Mainroom stage?) Here's the full track listing.

Jeremy Messersmith & Zach Coulter (Solid Gold): "Norwegian Wood"
Heatbox: "Octopus's Garden"
