Max Weinberg's Big Band at the Dakota
More Just Announced
The A.V. Club has missed a lot of things about The Tonight Show (and Late Night) With Conan O’Brien during its contractually obligated hiatus from television, but mostly characters like Preparation H Raymond and Vomiting Kermit. Seeing as how those characters are considered NBC property, we likely won't see them when O'Brien jumps to TBS—and if rumors are true, we may not see band leader (and E Street Band drummer) Max Weinberg, either. Well, in the meantime, Weinberg will have no problem paying the bills. The silver fox will be bringing Max Weinberg's Big Band—a 15-piece jazz and swing orchestra—to the Dakota Jazz Club on June 23 for two sets, and it looks like a pretty classy affair. Sadly, it appears as though La Bamba will not be a part of the band, so no chance for any soaring “Year 3000” falsetto.
