As a smart, sensitive kid who grew up with the Internet, there’s a good chance your status as an omnivore was tested once or twice by those disgusting PETA videos of slaughterhouses and Chinese fur farms and what have you. Or maybe you read Eating Animals in a desperate attempt to become more insufferable, and you gave veganism a thought.

Well, get ready to feel meat-eater’s guilt all over again, because the advocacy group Mercy for Animals has YouTubed an undercover video taken at Sparboe Egg Farms (including footage shot at Sparboe locations in Minnesota) featuring some, like, Hostel Part 2-level shit, bro. Chickens crammed into tiny cages, having their beaks seared off, being hurled to and fro by farm workers—in other words, a bunch of stuff everybody already knows about. However, this video seems to have been a little more effective than its contemporaries, as it has prompted McDonald’s to drop its partnership with Sparboe, and we can all rest assured that, from now on, this huge multinational corporation will only serve free range eggs laid onto a velvet pillow by healthy hens who receive daily massages from well-paid poultry technicians in white suits.
