Michael Showalter, Plain White T’s, Buckcherry, more
More Just Announced
Michael Showalter is one of those comedians whose every effort we appreciate, even if the finished project falls short of hilarious. The Comedy Central show Stella was a brief victory for offbeat humor, though some fans missed the spark (read: sex toys) of the trio’s infamous YouTube clips. The Baxter was a sweet, low-key romantic comedy that might have been more successful as a full-blown rom-com satire. And Michael And Michael Have Issues seemed merely like a good excuse for Showalter and longtime collaborator Michael Ian Black to act like sleep-deprived children. But then we think back to Wet Hot American Summer and The State, and we’re excited for whatever’s coming next—in this case, a stand-up date at The Varsity on Mar. 13. If the words “I’m Doug and I’m outta here” mean nothing to you, maybe you’d prefer some music announcements. See something you like? Click for details.
