In what could be the most Internet-marketable happening to come out of Mankato, Minnesota since those two little girls stole a goat from the Sibley Park Zoo—or since, maybe, ever—a news anchor for KEYC (Mankato’s CBS/Fox affiliate) seemed a just a tad out of sorts as she read the evening’s top stories this last Sunday night. It’s not clear exactly what Annie Stensrud, the veteran reporter in question, might have been smoking/shooting/huffing/drinking/freebasing before she took her seat in front of the cameras, but judging by her conduct in the video clip below, it must have been the good stuff:
Of course, we at The A.V. Club take our cherished positions as journalists very seriously, and would NEVER consider letting drugs or alcohol affect the quality reportage you enjoy every day. But, to be fair, if we had to spend every day trying to squeeze 30 minutes of “news” out of a town that proudly holds the banner of Hallmark Greeting Cards’ “Funniest City In America 2004,” we’d probably pop Quaaludes until our eyeballs fell out (or whatever happens when you take a lot of Quaaludes).
