Which sounds duller: watching a slow loris work its way down a nine-foot tree branch in preparation for a midday nap, or listening to BoDeans? Thanks to the newly announced Minnesota Zoo concert lineup for this summer, entertainment seekers can look forward to experiencing a host of adult-alternative bands and their animal kingdom counterparts on the same premises. Sponsored this year by the corporate sandwich artisans of Subway, the Zoo series continues to err on the side of sturdy blues acts and inoffensive Cities 97 fare. Exceptions include afrobeat kingpin Femi Kuti (June 30) and imminently shark-jumping locals Solid Gold (July 31).

Discounted ticket packages for the series go on sale May 8. See below for the full roster:

June 12: Derek Trucks
June 16: Tower Of Power
June 26: Los Lonely Boys
June 27: The Avett Brothers
June 28: BoDeans
June 30: Femi Kuti + King Sunny Adé
July 2: Soul Asylum
July 3: Toots & The Maytals
July 15: Gov't Mule
July 17: Keb' Mo'
July 25: Tina & The B-Sides
July 31: Solid Gold
August 1: Gear Daddies
August 3: Paolo Nutini
August 8: Alejandro Escovedo
August 15: Yonder Mountain String Band
August 21: Dar Williams + Haley Bonar
August 28: Gaelic Storm

Pursuant to our earlier question, here are clips of BoDeans at the Iowa State Fair and a slow loris at the San Diego Zoo:
