Local Newswire MPLS.TV goes national with City Of Music series

MPLS.TV’s City Of Music series has always been an impressive project. It’s the kind of feel-good effort that involves scores of dedicated, passionate people doing a lot of work for little or no money, skilled people showing up and churning out video after video of local acts, and, increasingly, video of big name, national headliners. And they’ve done all of this artfully, with a professional attention to detail and a knack for knowing what’s cool.

So it’s not especially surprising news that their latest partnership is with another trend-maker—this time, a national one: Pitchfork. The site, which was started in Minneapolis, will now post City Of Music videos the way City Pages Gimme Noise blog once did. Certainly a boon for the brand, a decidedly larger audience will be introduced to MPLS.TV. The first video is of Toro Y Moi, and was filmed when the act was touring through Minneapolis. You can watch the video here.
