It feels like we’ve been raving about our anniversary party for months, and, well, we have—but we swear this is the last time. Tonight we’re taking over First Avenue to celebrate the 1,143rd issue of The Onion with music from Dosh, Pink Mink, BNLX, Zebulon Pike, Fuck Knights, and Grant Cutler And The Gorgeous Lords. We’re also lucky to have nabbed The Current’s Dave Campbell as our emcee and DJ Jake Rudh to spin music between bands.
But that’s not all! Throughout the night, take part in a hipster scavenger hunt and raffles for prizes like gift certificates to Moxie Hair Salon and bar tabs at First Avenue. And those in need of their own rock ’n’ roll spotlight can move next door to the 7th Street Entry for The Infernal Singalong Machine, a.k.a. karaoke hosted by Joel Stitzel of Cosmic Slop fame. Like the party hats, songs dedicated to The Onion are entirely optional, though we wouldn’t mind hearing a sincere rendition of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful.”
