The Electric Fetus is still recovering from the August 2009 tornado that wreaked havoc on the Franklin Avenue record store. According to a recent press release, the shop went into debt fixing structural damage not covered by insurance. To make matters worse, having 40 percent of its floor space closed off for three months meant lost revenue. Even the sudden rush on the Fetus T-shirt made famous by Ringo Starr isn't enough to make up for that kind of loss. That's why local bands—including Cloud Cult, Unknown Prophets, The Bill Mike Band, and Ruby Isle—have organized a special benefit show at First Avenue on Feb. 26. (Take note, Cloud Cult fans: Even though the band gets top billing, it will be playing first.) In addition to live music on both the Mainroom and Entry stages, the event will feature a silent auction and raffle. The Fetus isn't the only worthy cause getting a helping hand here: A portion of the evening's proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross' Haiti relief efforts.
