Sims and Lazerbeak release free Wildlife EP

Minnesota has a lot to offer when it comes to our local hip-hop scene, but nothing released this year garnered as much praise and affection as the February release of Sims’ Bad Time Zoo, the MC’s first solo release since 2005’s Lights Out Paris. Thankfully for fans of the rapper’s insightful lyrics and complex prose, the wait for the next set of new material won’t take another half decade. In fact, it won’t even take a year. As of today, Sims is offering a free download of the Wildlife EP he made along with fellow Doomtree member, Lazerbeak, who’s supplied Sims with another set of dense, jazz-oriented beats. Sims and Lazerbeak, along with other Doomtree collective members, Cecil Otter and Paper Tiger, will hit the road for the month long Good Time Zoo tour, which will culminate with a stop at the Fine Line on October 15.
