Just Announced Target Field’s first music show will likely feature the song “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems”

After last summer’s teasing announcement that Paul McCartney would be the first musician to play a concert at the now-barely new Target Field—an announcement that later turned out to be false—there is verified, true news about musicians coming to the venue. Country megastars, or Top Cowboys or however they prefer to be known, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw will perform a joint hoedown July 8, 2012 in the house where the Twins lose. Is it somewhat disappointing that the first show at our stadium will not feature a bona fide rock legend, but rather just feature a couple of popular cowstuds who will likely do a good job selling the place out? Yeah, it’s a bit disappointing. On the plus side, Chesney might play his song “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems,” and there will likely be much whooping from the crowd, with everyone joining hands in unity over the idea that one day people won’t be required to wear shoes, or shirts, and thus will have no problems. Who needs “Let It Be”?
