More Just Announced
What do you get the 6-year-old who has everything? You know, the one who had Prince show up to their fifth birthday party. How do you top that? The Current is certainly going to try, and it’s off to a good start, with pop of the power, orchestral, and folk varieties.
On Jan. 21, the radio station will take over First Avenue and celebrate in style with local crowd-pleasers Cloud Cult and Jeremy Messersmith, plus the Twin Cities-affiliated Free Energy (the band is based in Philadelphia, but some of its members used to be in St. Paul’s Hockey Night). Plus, there are still two more acts that haven’t yet been announced. Tickets, which are $12 in advance and $14 at the door, become available to MPR members on Dec. 15 and to the general public on Dec. 17.
