The Peter O’Tooles remake Drag Me To Hell (from memory)

The Peter O'Tooles
Bunny and Coco Sparber are always finding new and interesting ways to amuse themselves, like performing their ode to Minnesota-born porn stars at Sex World as two-thirds of naughty bluegrass band Courtney McClean And The Dirty Curls. [Max “Bunny” Sparber has written for The A.V. Club. —ed.] Their latest project is much more SFW: a slapped-together remake of Drag Me To Hell, billed under the name of their other band, The Peter O’Tooles.
It seems the pair recently spent some time in Los Angeles with access to a number of people, places, and things from Sam Raimi’s 2009 horror movie—namely, original shooting locations (exterior shots anyway), the actual button that sealed the protagonist’s fate, and Alison Lohman’s real-life body double. (With all that authenticity at their disposal, who wouldn’t shoot their own remake?) The result is seven minutes of silliness that remind us of when we were teenagers fooling around with the family video camera for the first time. One criticism: The O’Tooles’ version doesn’t feature the gushing bodily fluids that made the original so wonderfully disgusting because, well, that would have required some kind of budget.
