Decider's previous report on the lineup for the June 20 Rock The Garden outdoor show at the Walker Art Center? Well, you know what day it is... Sadly, no Replacements reunion or Hüsker Dü staring contest. What we're really getting for Rock The Garden, though, is plenty exciting.
The real lineup was announced live on The Current at 4 p.m. today by host Mary Lucia and the Walker's Philip Bither, who said that the groups were chosen to give a broad, "four corners" overview of American music. It'll be headlined by The Decemberists, who just released their strongest album yet with The Hazards Of Love. Next up is Arizona's Calexico, Brooklyn's Yeasayer, and local indie-rockers Solid Gold. That's a Saturday afternoon well-spent.
Tickets are on sale now for Current and MPR members only (details can be found on their respective websites or rockthegarden2009.com), while the public on-sale date is April 22. Tickets are $40, and $35 for Current/Walker members.
