On April 1, Lyndale Avenue's Treehouse Records, known locally as an indie retail mecca for music lovers (and collectors), will celebrate eight years of knowing more about obscure 7-inch singles and garage-rock imports than you do. To mark the occasion, the Treehouse team is set to offer 15% off new items and 20% off used ones (collectibles, sale items, and concert tickets excluded). All they ask is that customers deploy the not-so-secret password: "Happy anniversary!" Loyal patrons will also be treated to a live "improv breakfast" performance at 11 a.m. on April 9, featuring local guitar tweaker Michael Yonkers and others. A follow-up celebration will be held at King & I Thai on April 17, with record guru Tom Daffer lording over the DJ decks. Full details can be found on Treehouse's MySpace.
