As sad as it is to think about, it turns out a business can’t sustain entirely on 21st birthday parties alone. Drink, the Uptown mainstay and popular choice for newly minted drinkers, is apparently having trouble selling enough of their titular drinks as word broke this week via court reports that the location (although not its Downtown sister site) is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Sorority sisters fret not: Drink has requested approval to keep its doors open and to keep paying its staff throughout the bankruptcy case, despite the fact that the bar owes somewhere between $500,000 and $1 million to a handful of different creditors, including a $339,052 loan owed to Minnetonka company, Plaza 1 Inc.
Considering how ungodly crowded Drink is on the weekends, we really have to wonder what the hell went wrong here.
