Video recap: Roe Family Singers at 331 Club
The hunter's-orange haven for acoustic music that is Northeast Minneapolis' 331 Club plays host to many regular performers, and Decider stopped by last week to check out the reliably entertaining Monday-night crew, the old-school country combo Roe Family Singers.
Though the band is usually led by husband-and-wife duo Kim and Quillan Roe, we happened to stop by on a week when they were out of town. (They'll be back on stage tonight.) Still, the Singers minus the Roe Family were plenty impressive on their own. The lineup often varies week to week, so you never know what kind of experience you'll get. But whoever's playing, the rotating crew can be counted on for solid musicianship. Here's bass player Jon Olson taking the mic for a cover of Jimmie Dale Gilmore's "Tonight I Think I'll Go Downtown":
