Visit the Mall Of America’s new Girl Scout store, temporarily without cookies

The economy may not be in the best shape it’s ever been in, but the Mall Of America will apparently not rest until every individual dessert or candy has a storefront of its very own. We thought it was pretty sweet (a pun!) when the mall announced an entire store dedicated to Marshmallow Peeps last year (and let’s face it, it was), but now those seeking to curb a sweet tooth are going to have to work even harder on their way to the latest Bloomingdales sale thanks to a new pop-up location built almost entirely around peddling Girl Scout Cookies to those too weak to resist the power of a Samoa.
To be fair, the temporary spot (which opens today and only lasts until March 11) promises to offer more than just Tagalongs and the new, completely lame cookie being offered this year. In fact, visitors to the mall won’t even be able to buy cookies at the store until Feb. 20 so that Girl Scouts going door-to-door don’t have too much competition while earning their coveted Cookie Activity pins and badges.
That means you can buy various memorabilia like T-shirts, earrings, water bottles, coffee mugs, and pens, and probably look at some pamphlets, in the meantime. Cool?
On March 11, the Mall Of America will host 50,000 Girl Scouts for the organization’s 100th birthday, so maybe plan to do something else that day.
