Nothing jump-starts a new band’s career like a stellar pedigree, something Minneapolis’ Polica can surely attest to. With members from Roma Di Luna, Vampire Hands, Gayngs, and Bon Iver, the group has quickly shot to prominence on the strength of a few scattered songs alone. Good thing those songs live up to the hype: “Wandering Star” is a gauzy, strangely groovy track highlighted by singer Channy Casselle’s droning croon, while “Lay Your Cards Out” practically begs to become a future bedroom-sex mix-tape staple. The group is preparing its first full-length, Give You The Ghost, for physical release in early 2012. The group headlines the second night of the The Current's 7th birthday party.
