    BoDeans at Guthrie Theater

BoDeans' chief pop-culture legacy may be their theme song for Party Of Five, but they’re a roots-rock institution in their native Wisconsin, still making white people dance awkwardly at county fairs from Racine to Superior. It’s joked that if you’re born in Wisconsin, it is required by law that you see BoDeans at least three times by age 18. Some of that regional popularity transfers across state lines, especially considering how many Green Bay Packers fans have residency in Minnesota. The band has only released two new studio discs this decade, 2004's Resolution and 2008's Still (plus assorted live albums and compilations), but a new album should be out early in 2010. Most recently, BoDeans re-released their 1986 debut, Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams, with extras including a DVD of an hour-long 1985 show recorded at First Avenue.
