Man, Charles Bradley can really make you feel his music. The “Screaming Eagle Of Soul” possesses a jet-engine voice that instantly recalls absolute legends like James Brown and Marvin Gaye; and that voice has found a perfect home on soul-revivalist label Daptone. After a long string of singles, including the incredible “The Telephone Song,” Bradley released his debut, 2011’s No Time For Dreaming. The album collects singles like “The World (Is Going Up In Flames)” and adds more, producing a sound that seems plucked right out of the golden era of soul. Just like Al Green’s, Bradley’s voice has the ability to make love songs bigger than any heart can hold.
