Doomtree Blowout V at First Avenue
As supportive as they all are of each other, it's logistically tough to get all of the Doomtree folks together on an album, never mind getting them in the same room for an entire evening. (Especially considering that P.O.S. has been on the road almost all year behind the huge success of his solo album Never Better.) So when the nine-person hip-hop collective announces one of their annual all-crew "blowout" shows, it's not to be missed. Blowout V marks the release of False Hopes XV, a collection of songs that didn't quite fit on past DT-affiliated albums. In anticipation of the party, the crew has leaked one track from the disc: The funk-infused "Coup For The Kings" will sound even better when the hand claps are live.
