Ellis Paul and Amy Speace at Cedar Cultural Center

Ellis Paul first found fame in and around his native Maine, but he's gradually become a regular on the national folk circuit. He's had a couple of brushes with the mainstream, including songs on the soundtracks to Me, Myself & Irene and Shallow Hal (the Farrelly brothers are fans), but Paul earns a living by pleasing his small but loyal audience, including those who've accompanied him on fan-club cruises. In recent years he’s delved into kid-friendly tunes with 2008's The Dragonfly Races, but he returns to more serious topics with the new The Day After Everything Changed, a collection of musical stories about people going through tough times, be they Katrina survivors or Civil War soldiers.
