Twin Cities septet Cadillac Kolstad And The Flats would have looked slick cruising down the street in 1958, or in a Brian Setzer music video. Today, the throwback look and dirty Buddy Holly-esque blues tunes might make them something of a novelty, but they inhabit their vintage aesthetic so enthusiastically that even if you can’t suspend your disbelief, you’ll still have a damn fine time. The group released a self-titled full-length last summer, and has ongoing engagements at several Minneapolis bars.
