The Goonies

Fri Dec 4
11:45 pm
The Goonies at Uptown Theatre
Much more than a mere beneficiary of ’80s nostalgia, the Steven Spielberg- and Chris Columbus-penned, Richard Donner-helmed adventure film The Goonies has become a staple of the new crop of cult classics. Somehow, watching a group of kids go on a treasure hunt replete with booby traps and underground caverns never gets tiresome no matter how old you are, but it should be doubly fun when it’s with a whole new generation. It’s also hilarious to see a young Josh Brolin flex like a teen heartthrob, in light of his grim performance in No Country For Old Men. (Also Dec. 5)
