Greg Giraldo at Rick Bronson's House Of Comedy
If there’s one thing to be expected of someone who hosted Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Nation, it would be (duh) a good stand-up show. New York comic Greg Giraldo doesn’t disappoint: His rants are near-legendary for both their hilarity and length, and he’s revealed his knack for the withering takedown time and again on various celebrity roasts. (On Flavor Flav: “You look like Idi Amin after a three-year crack binge on the sun.”) Truth be told, not everything Giraldo attempts in the comedy world works: He can’t seem to get a pilot to take off, and some of his racial-humor sketches seem outdated in the Obama Age. But when it comes to straight-ahead stand-up, Giraldo lands more punches than most.
