At this point she may come across as little more than a squawk box, all rasp and surgery, but Joan Rivers is still kicking. After winning last season's Celebrity Apprentice in May (and calling a fellow competitor “worse than Hitler” along the way), Rivers will probably still have plenty of residual spleen toward Donald Trump to vent in her stand-up act. She's also tossing out barbs weekly on cable channel TV Land's How'd You Get So Rich (quite a drop from guest-hosting Carson-era The Tonight Show). At this point, the faithful would sit to hear her read from—and kvetch about—the phone book, but judging by her trip to meet the crowds at the Edinburgh Festival last year, she’ll always engage a crowd by alternately insulting them or herself.
