Lissie is a folk-rock singer-songwriter from Illinois with a stirringly straightforward sound and a voice that couldn't be more direct. Her singing is refreshingly free of cloyingness, with a certain leaning toward the likes of Judee Sill and Rickie Lee Jones. Lissie signed to Fat Possum, the beloved Mississippi indie label that has been behind everything from R.L. Burnside to Wavves, and she plays here in support of a new EP called Why You Runnin'.
