If it wasn't already apparent from the title of his debut album, Dreamer's Poetry, or the fact that he changed his name from Young Son to Mike Dreams a few months ago, this is one MC with a positive outlook on life. On tracks like "Hip Hope Anthem (Hello World)" and "We Goin' Worldwide," the Brooklyn Center rapper offers his antidote to rampant cynicism, rhyming about shooting for the stars and always being grateful, with a liberal sprinkling of shout-outs to God that never sound rote. The up-and-comer is getting some support from local favorite Toki Wright, who's hosting this CD-release show.
