Miles Proctor, Joe Garden, Chris Pauls, Anita Serwacki: The New Vampire's Handbook at Magers & Quinn Booksellers
The same team who satirized the insufferable The Dangerous Book For Boys now enters the unavoidable realm of vampires by exploring the zeitgeist’s fascination with all things undead. Written as a handbook for nascent vampires (first line: “If you are reading this, you are a vampire”), The New Vampire’s Handbook explores daily vampire realities like dealing with a new endocrine system, as well as providing practical advice on selecting and luring prey, and how best to effectively fake it through a meal that consists of more than blood. While it’s uncertain what form Miles Proctor will take for the reading, his five slaves of Joe Garden, Janet Ginsberg, Chris Pauls, Anita Serwacki, and Scott Sherman will be on hand in human form. (Full disclosure: All of the authors have previous or current ties with The Onion.)
