Modern Radio Record Label 10th Anniversary Extravaganza at Cedar Cultural Center

When The Plastic Constellations played their final show in April of 2008, the words "indefinite hiatus"—not "breakup"—helped soften the blow. (But really, how sad could a show featuring confetti explosions and legions of cardboard-sword-waving fans be?) The guys were all still friends, and no one was leaving town. (In fact, some were putting down roots and settling into family life.) So it comes as no surprise that TPC, which originally won over local crowds as hyper, hip-hop-lovin', indie-rock-playin' 15-year-olds in the mid-'90s, is back with a reunion show before we barely had a chance to miss it. Here, it helps celebrate the 10th anniversary of Modern Radio Records, which released the band's first full-length, Let's War, in 2000. The two-day label showcase begins Jan. 22 at the Turf Club with a show featuring FT (The Shadow Government), Daughters Of The Sun, The Chambermaids, Double Bird, and a DJ set from Sheridan Fox of His Mischief.
