Parachute and Safetysuit at Triple Rock Social Club
Formed while its members were still in high school, Sparky’s Flaw from Virginia released a handful of EPs in the mid-’00s before rechristening itself as Parachute. The band’s major-label debut, Losing Sleep, dropped in 2009 and the tame Maroon 5ish rockers received some serious exposure through Nivea commercials. Parachute was soon playing with the soft-rock likes of Switchfoot, O.A.R., and Three Doors Down, and the band's pop sensibilities also snagged it an opening slot on Kelly Clarkson’s current tour, which heads to Europe this February.
