Rhymesayers Presents: A Benefit For Haiti at First Avenue

Local hip-hop label Rhymesayers' contribution to Haiti earthquake relief features a blockbuster of a lineup, with performances by Twin Cities heroes Brother Ali, I Self Devine, Toki Wright, and Muja Messiah. But host Slug will also welcome a number of RS-affiliated out-of-towners to the stage, including Rhode Island MCs Sage Francis and B. Dolan, Philly's Freeway, and Seattle's Jake One. Given the label's cachet, A Benefit For Haiti looks to raise a good deal of money for a worthy cause and offer some can't-miss onstage collaborations. Proceeds from the event will go to Oxfam America, Doctors Without Borders, and Wyclef Jean's Yéle Haiti foundation.
