Richard Lloyd at Nick & Eddie
As a member of the seminal rock band Television, guitarist Richard Lloyd helped pave the way for the post-punk explosion that would hit in the late ’70s. On his own, though, Lloyd plays bluesy bar rock that isn’t likely to redefine any musical genres, even if releases like 2007's The Radiant Monkey still boast some well-crafted riffs and Lloyd's signature sound. For now, his saving graces are twofold: He can still coax extraordinary sounds from an electric guitar with zero help from fancy effects pedals, and he's a little bit crazy. Both factors help him out on a new collection of Jimi Hendrix covers, The Jamie Neverts Story.
