Roma Di Luna and Eliza Blue at Cedar Cultural Center
Twin Cities combo Roma Di Luna’s first two discs, 2006’s Face Of My Friends and 2007's Find Your Way Home, were full of beautiful, quietly resonant folk, but the husband-and-wife duo of Alexei and Channy Moon Casselle isn't tied down to that style. (After all, Alexei is also the MC for local rap duo Kill The Vultures.) On 2008's Casting The Bones, Roma confidently broadens its scope, adding a full band including bassist James Everest and Spaghetti Western String Co. banjoist Michael Rossetto. It’s an exhilarating step up in every way, creating new wonders without losing touch with what made Roma special in the first place. A new full-length disc is planned for 2010, and a limited-edition Christmas EP will be available at the group's annual holiday show at the Cedar.
