The Soviettes, The Gateway District, That's Incredible, and Awesome Snakes at Eclipse Records
When The Soviettes called it quits in 2006, they left behind a legacy of sterling pop-punk infused with equal parts charming melodies and snotty punk yowls, undergirded by rapid-fire kick-snare drumming and snarling guitars. All the members have gone on to join or form new projects (guitarist Annie Holoien and drummer Danny Henry with Awesome Snakes, guitarist Sturgeon with The Gateway District, and bassist Susy Sharp with That’s Incredible), but the band’s getting back together for a pair of shows celebrating the release of Rarities, a collection of B-sides. Fans of each Soviette’s recent work will be glad to hear that all their new bands will be opening at both the all-ages show at Eclipse Records on March 18 and the 21+ show at the Turf Club the following night.
