Talking Volumes: Audrey Niffenegger And Stephen King at Fitzgerald Theater

Considering her blockbuster debut, The Time Traveller's Wife, and eyebrow-raising $5 million advance for her second novel, Audrey Niffenegger's Her Fearful Symmetry had a lot riding on it. But despite mixed but decent reviews (The A.V. Club gave it an A-), the Chicago author and visual artist's tale of ghosts and creepy twin sisters has tanked, so far selling only a third of what Wife did in hardcover. Still, this installment of the Talking Volumes series has already sold out, no doubt because a) Niffenegger's still compelling and multi-talented, and b) there's another guy on the bill: horror maestro Stephen King, the most consistently popular author of the last 30 years. King's latest, Under The Dome, is about a small town that suddenly finds itself completely cut off from the outside world.
