Toki Wright's clambered over the heads of many other rappers pounding the pavement in Minneapolis these past few years, snapping out rhymes charged with an indignant hint of reggae. He contributes not just his rich, deep voice, but also a lot of involvement in Twin Cities non-profits and education, a double-threat of mic skills and positivity. Wright's hometown label Rhymesayers picked up his album A Different Mirror for release this year, and he recently wrapped up a tour with Brother Ali, finally sharing some more recognition with artists he's already been sharing stages with for years.
