Vampire Hands, Leisure Birds, Daughters Of The Sun, and The Chambermaids at Turf Club
Though its 2006 four-song debut, At Wizard Island: Too Punk To Fuck, was an arresting collision of psychedelia and punk, Minneapolis’ Vampire Hands has been shifting more toward the former side of that spectrum over time, with excellent results. Hannah In The Mansion, released in 2009, explored a mellow yet propulsive sound that echoed a more stripped-down and weird Fleet Foxes vibe while finding its own organically freaky dynamic. Given its M.O., we’re guessing that Vampire Hands will lean on The Beatles’ later work for this special covers show, which also features bands playing as The Pixies, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Sleep.
