The Local is more than a place to eat and drink: It’s Irish. Owner Kieran Folliard, not long off the boat, has crafted a pub/café that seems lifted from Dublin a hundred years ago. Amid acres of dark wood, Irish tunes, and a menu that jigs from "light and crispy" Fish & Chips to Shepherd's Pie topped with mashed potatoes, you’ll soon lose track of Scandoland outside. The snugs (those private alcoves lining the bar) boast more white collars than blue in this up-market meet market on the Mall.
