Neighborhood fave Muddy Pig is succeeding in a space where others—Cognac McCarthy’s, Maggie’s Tavern, and Bamboleo—have failed. Why? Maybe it’s because the owners are as keen to hang out as the patrons, or it could be the inspired tasting events. Down a few microbrews, have some scallops, and discuss. The dining area is as long and lean as a diner car, but it feels intimate rather than get-me-outta-here claustrophobic.
