There will be at least two more Amazing Spider-Man movies after the next one
I know the obvious answer to this, but even so, why not just have a joint Spider-Man/Avengers (or whatever) movie, owned by both studios? That would probably easily outgross Avengers.

They've probably done the math and realized that if they keep it to x budget, with worldwide gross accounted it, they will always make a profit.

Batman Beyond: The Return Of The Joker
I really liked BB also. Very clearly influenced by Dark Knight Returns, but also a new direction to take the series and the character.

I've got Verizon too, and same thing. It just abruptly dropped all scheduled recordings of Mad Men.
