Real Estate covers The Cranberries

Real Estate covers The Cranberries

We rearranged the Undercover order very slightly in order to slide Real Estate’s version of “Linger” into 1994 week. The song was actually released in 1993, but it was a hit well into the following year, even getting a re-release as a single. It’s a dreamy little song (but not as dreamy as “Dreams”) that made perfect sense for Real Estate, the Brooklyn (by way of Jersey) band that released its excellent third album, Atlas, earlier this year. Real Estate took the Cranberries’ hit into Galaxie 500/Luna territory, adding some haze and removing that strong Irish accent.
