A.V. Undercover: Summer Break

Ted Leo And The Pharmacists cover The Ramones

Come on baby, move.

About This Episode

Ted Leo And The Pharmacists' cover of "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" was the very first A.V. Undercover we aired, and it's a fan-favorite to this day. (Leo told us that people still yell it at him during shows, but that he's stopped playing it—so don't ask!) We finally got Ted and his Pharmacists back, this time for Summer Break, which we filmed on the roof of our office on a beautiful July afternoon. The song this time is a considerably deeper cut: Leo chose "Go Lil' Camaro Go" by The Ramones, which originally appeared on the band's 1987 album Halfway To Sanity. Leo thought the lyric "girls, cars, sun, fun" made it work for our series, and he even wore a special summer outfit to rock the roof off. Ted Leo And The Pharmacists are working on material for new album, and Leo is also working on the debut from The Both, his new project with Aimee Mann—The Both will make their Chicago debut at the A.V. Fest/Hideout Block Party on September 7. Be there.
